Welcome to Cyprus
Here at Avabreak.com we are committed to ensuring your well-earned, long-awaited holiday to the sun goes smoothly.  Based just outside the historic old town of Paphos, we are a small team of English ex-pats who understand your desire to get away from work routines and dull weather so we specialise in offering our clients a wide choice of affordable, self catering holiday accommodation ranging from studio apartments to 5 bedroom villas, all comfortably furnished and fully equipped to create an ideal home from home base for your holiday in the sunny Mediterranean.

  • Are you looking for a family vacation with plenty to do for the children, or a  romantic break with your loved one?
  • Are you looking for an action packed holiday with water sports such as swimming, snorkelling or scuba-diving in the clear, calm waters of the Med, or water-skiing, wind-surfing and Para-gliding, or perhaps you would like to play Golf at courses such as Tsada, Aphrodite Hills or Secret Valley?
  • Are you planning to get married and have your wedding celebrations here on the Island of Love, birthplace of Aphrodite, the Goddess of love?

We can organise all of the above and much, much more – day trips such as the Bird & Animal Park to see the endangered Moufflon; water parks; go-carting; horse-riding; car hire; boat trips including sunset excursions, and nature lovers will love a visit to the Akamas Peninsula – Cyprus’ answer to ‘wilderness’ – here there are miles and miles of rugged unspoilt coastline, uninhabited apart from local wildlife. Here you can also visit Lara Beach which is a nesting ground for Green and Loggerhead turtles. If you are visiting Cyprus in the winter months you may even get the opportunity to try skiing or snow-boarding in the majestic Troodos Mountains. We can also arrange cruises to Egypt to experience the Pyramids, Sphinx, Cairo Museums, markets and Bazaars, or maybe even a camel ride. There are also many lovely old churches and monasteries scattered around the Island and are well worth taking the time to visit.

If you are planning a more sedate pace for your get-away break then the fantastic climate of Cyprus boasts an average of 326 days of glorious sunshine a year which guarantees you plenty of time to work on your golden tan on one of the Islands many beaches.

Nightlife on this beautiful Island generally centres on the many taverns, restaurants, bars, cafes and coffee shops in the harbour at Kato Paphos or surrounding towns and villages. Cyprus is renowned for its hospitality to tourists, and children are more than welcome almost everywhere.

Must-try specialities include Souvlaki – grilled pork and vegetable kebab, sometimes with pitta bread; Meze – many small plates of spicy dips, fresh vegetables, grilled meat and fish; Kleftiko – lamb, slow-cooked in a sealed clay oven;  Halloumi – soft grilled cheese seasoned with thyme and mint.

Grapes are widely grown on Cyprus so there is a wide variety of wines to choose from, with Commandaria being the most famous – reputedly the oldest wine in the world and originally made for Richard the Lion heart and the Crusaders.

Other nightlife entertainment is available in the form of variety shows with singing and dancing; Cypriot nights with traditional costumes and dancing to local music. There are also cocktail bars, karaoke bars, tribute artists, nightclubs, discos and boat trips with on-board shows and fireworks.

There is a wide variety of banks, shops and supermarkets in Paphos, many stocking English brands as well as local produce. Traditional crafts such as pottery, basket-ware, lace and home-made sweets are also widely available, particularly at local weekly markets.

Flight times from the UK are approximately 4 to 4 and half hours, with Paphos International airport being the most convenient for our properties.

The above is just a very brief outline of the variety of activities available in Cyprus, the list goes on and on – if we haven’t mentioned it in the description above but it is something you are interested in then please contact us and we can provide you with further information.
